The things to do and places to go in summer in and around Morzine are many and varied. Below are just some of the many activities and places to visit that will make your holiday one to remember.
There are a multitude of different places to visit while you are in Morzine, some very close and others a short drive away. Listed below are a few of the more interesting sites.
Why not bring your group to the apartment Bilinda for a tailor-made golfing break? The holiday can either be purely golf based, or integrated with other alpine sports and activities for a totally unforgettable experience. Surrounding courses in the Haute-Savoie are set amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. They include Chamonix, Megève, Avoriaz, Annecy, Les Gets, Flaine Cran San Sierra and the Royal Club at Evian, overlooking Lake Geneva and one of the finest clubs in France. Short course descriptions are provided below. Cleverly designed and excellently maintained courses at altitudes up to 7,000ft give breathtaking backdrops to every shot and add extra yardage to your tee shots. Courses are between 10 and 90 minutes from Morzine. You can play as often as you wish or mix it with some of the many other sports and activities on offer. Green fees are payable at the courses in Euros and range from £20 to £40 per round. Clubs can be hired at all courses and a couple of sets are available at the apartment. All courses have good facilities including clubhouse, restaurant, golf trolleys and electric cabbie cars, etc.

Morzine-Avoriaz: 15 minutes drive The 9-hole golf course, designed by Hugues Lambert, is located at the entry to the Avoriaz resort on the Proclou site, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty set amidst pine trees and surrounding mountains. It covers a distance of 2,930m and offers 9-hole round green fees as well as 18-hole green fees. Les Gets: 10 minutes drive This 18-hole course was designed by Olivier Dongradi. Enjoy a round of golf and see how he has succeeded in combining a breathtaking alpine setting with an authentic technical challenge while respecting the rules that govern golf course design. It is a par 70 course and covers 5,227m. Competitions are held every Sunday and Wednesday. Annecy: 1 hour 10 minutes drive Accessible to players of all levels, the Golf Club du Lac d’Annecy ranges over the listed site of Roc de Chère, a protected nature reserve. This hilly and wooded course, which calls for skill and accuracy, will surprise you with some lofty tees and magnificent views of the mountains, the lake and Château de Menthon St Bernard Chamonix: 60 minutes drive At the foot of a glacial valley between Mont Blanc and Les Aiguilles Rouges, the Chamonix course bears the hallmark of Robert Trent Jones Snr. Amidst a majestic setting, this technically challenging 6,076m course, with water obstacles and many bunkers, is not easily forgotten. It is a par 72 course and a handicap of 35 is required. Megève: 50 minutes drive This challenging course is situated on the plateau of Mont d'Arbois and is an enjoyable challenge to all golfers due one or two difficulties linked to its high altitude. It was designed by Henry Cotton, covers 6,100m and is a par 72. Evian: 30 minutes drive Rated by many as the most beautiful course in Europe, Evian offers lovely parkland golf in a tranquil setting. Majestic trees, impeccable fairways and Lake Geneva make up the scenery. Evian is quite hilly but the views at the top are superb. The course itself is not too tough - it's perfect holiday golf and good enough to host the European Tour Evian Ladies Masters every year. It is a par 72 course and covers 6,606 yards. Buggies are available. Crans-sur-Sierre 90 min Home of the Swiss open each year this course re-designed by Seve Balasteros had its centenary year in 2006 the same as Morpeth so any Morpeth member can take advantage of the reciprocal agreement for complementary golf between the centenary clubs. Flaine les Carroz: 25 minutes drive Back to top R. Berthes skillfully designed this course in 1986, at 1,500m one of the highest in Europe. He could not have chosen a more majestic natural setting, overlooking the valley of the Arve and the ski resort of Flaine. It has 18 holes and is a par 63. No handicap is required. (No photo available) Mountain Biking With over 500 km of mountain biking routes Morzine is a Mecca for both the seasoned enthusiast and the family group. 23 of the main ski lifts operate during the Summer giving access to sign posted routes for all levels. At the top of the Pleney ski lift is a permanent permanent downhill run which has already hosted a number of major tournaments. Bikes can be hired at a number of different places in both Morzine and Les Gets. Hiking The local terrain offers an almost endless variety of walking routes and the 10 ski lifts which operate in the summer in the Morzine area offer easy access to the higher walks without all the effort of climbing up the mountains. Alpine Guides offer various high-mountains treks, whether it be glacier walking, individual hikes on rocky escarpments, snow or mixed terrain, so that you can experience the world of the high ranges, glaciers and famous summits. For the less hardy, there are also organized hikes to track or spot the fauna and flora of the Alps, along mountain paths, accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable guides Water Park and diving school The water park offers sunbathing and greenery for all. There are 2 pools, including one Olympic swimming pool, a paddling pool, lawn, terrace and solarium. Activities available: swimming lessons, an aqua-gym club, inflatable ball, slide race, beach volley, water polo …You can also prepare scuba diving elementary certificate. Ice diving in the winter is available in the nearby Lac Montriond
Tennis In the central park area of morzine there are 10 tennis courts offering state of the art surfaces on which to improve your game. Lessons from the pro are available to those who are serious enough to want them.
Climbing You can take a course in climbing as a beginner, or improve on your climbing skills, by attempting some of the cliff faces in the area, or taking some of the French Climbing School tests. There are various courses on offer with the region's guides.
Summer Sledging Old and young enjoy the two sledge runs on the Pléney massif, reached by the Crusaz ski lift. They are open from the 14th of June to the 14th of September.
Adventure Park In Morzine, there are two adventure parks with natural circuits made of ladders, swing bridges and various other zip wires, which allow properly equipped beginners to move safely from tree to tree accompanied by a guide: Indiana Park and Cascade Adventure. (Harnesses, karabiners, pulleys etc are all provided) (min age 6 for Indiana Park and min height 1.45m for Cascade Adventure). Cascade Adventure is only 500 meters from the Apartment.
Canyoning Morzine guides will lead you down a number of different water routes, some more impressive than others! For beginners or practiced canyoners, all can discover the mountain from the impressive angle that the bottom of a canyon or riverbed offers. You never come out off a day like this untouched by the experience, or without a renewed sense of fulfillment. One of the canyoning areas is within 100 meters of the apartment.
Rafting The river Dranse which runs in front of the apartment and gives a continual pleasant and relaxing sound of running water increases in size 15 km down the valley to turn into a really good white water river for canoeing and rafting
Fishing The regions rivers and mountain lakes are simply outstanding offering during the summer all the pleasures water can offer. In and around Morzine, the rivers and lakes give each and everyone the opportunity to rediscover those wonderful summer experiences. Whether your choice is Lac Leman - a real inland sea only 30 minutes by car from Morzine - or Lake Annecy, Lake Montriond or the Lac des Mines d'Or (these last two only 15 minutes from central Morzine) - they are all havens to be discovered or rediscovered, be it for swimming or fishing. Fishing permits can be obtained on a daily basis from 1st April onwards, or alternatively 15 day " holiday permits" are available from 1st June to 30th September
Paragliding For the serious thrill seakers you can take a tandam flight from one of the paragliding centres in either Morzine or nearby Les Gets. Courses for those who want to learn to fly are also available

There are many beautiful places to visit within an hour's drive of Morzine. Cascade de Nyon Less than 100 meters from the apartment is one of the most beautiful sites in the area.. The adventure park is in the same place and one of the best canyoning routes is down the same stretch of river, 500 meters from the front of the apartment. Chamonix & Mont Blanc Chamonix is at the foot of Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc. It is one of the most beautiful towns in the alps with plenty to do and plenty to see You can take the télécabine to the top of the Aiguille du Midi at an altitude of 3842m. The views of the Alps and of Mont Blanc are breathtaking, or simply see the mountain from the town. You can take the train to the glazier and walk through caves carved in the ice which fell as snow long ago. The Chamonix Valley is approximately 20 kilometers and nestled between the towering Mont-Blanc range to the south and the Aiguilles Rouges mountains to the north. Lake Geneva The City of Geneva and the towns around Lake Geneva offer some of the best scenery in the world. Its easy to see why some of the richest people in the world chose to make their homes in or around Geneva Geneva itself always has something of interest on in the summer with its many festivals and exhibitions. The medieval town of Yvoire or Evian, where you can either explore the beautiful town and its lakeside or visit the leisure area with its Olympic pool, giant flume, diving boards, water skiing, pedalos, etc. Alternatively take one of the cruises across to Lausanne or Montreux in Switzerland. Lake Annecy Nestling beneath the snowcapped peaks of the Aravis range, Annecy possesses a splendid lakeside setting. Declared in a class of its own in the national prizes for French towns in bloom, Annecy is an historic town of cobbled streets, tiled roofs and beautiful canals. A morning exploring the old town and an afternoon boat trip are highly recommended. Try to make your visit last until evening when the old town comes alive with restaurants and bars. Annecy is probably our favorite place. Lac Montriond The village of Montriond is right next to Morzine and while the village itself is not to interesting the Lake to which it gives its name is stunning. A purpose designed swimming area is built into the side of the lake so if you have small children it offers a safe and pictreque place for a days relaxation. Pony rides, canoeing and fishing are also activities which can be carried out at Lac Montriond. Yvoire This medieval bourg, ideally situated on the expanse separating the "little lake" from the "great lake", still possesses some of the essential elements of the fortifications of the 14th Century : the castle, doors, ramparts Known as a modest fishing village in the beginning of the century, Yvoire is now ranked as one of the International Laureates of Floral Decorations, and is a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. This medieval city will celebrate its 700 years in 2006. Ancient village www.yvoiretourism.com Les Gets Les Gets is the closest town to Morzine and offers a variety of activities some of which are the same as Morzine but many of which are different. Les Gets offers a number of childrens activities including trampolening , bungee pulls and downhill go carting
